Piggie Poo Rescue

Our first Eastside Explorers field trip was today at Piggie Poo Rescue Center. It's really close to our house. Amy and Addi Cline came too!
There are 27 Guinea pigs there - many ready for a forever home. We learned a lot about how to take care of them. It's a good thing we had not gotten one - we would not have been doing a lot of things properly.
They were very cute and came in lots of "styles".   The kids fed them lettuce leaves and two were brought out to hold.
We did not bring one home.

A Micah milestone

Since just before our La Paz trip Micah has been weighing himself and then asking me to weigh myself ... almost daily. He's getting close to my weight and wants to find the day and time when we finally match. His day came!
Those are his feet and then my feet on the scale. He's now taller, and pretty soon heavier, than me.  Look at the grin on his face. How funny!

CoYoTE begins

CoYoTE is our new addition to homeschooling this year. It's an academic co-op. We'll have 31 weeks (Tuesdays) through the year where we "go to school".
Micah's classes are: Tournament of Heroes (history); Writing; and Life Science.
Lilly's classes are: Geograpy; Language Atrs; and Astronomy.

Back in the Saddle

Lilly's first horse lesson of the season. Matt found her a new pink cowgirl hat in Cave Creek a few weeks ago. I found her a mint green dri-fit shirt. She's got her new boots from Dave. She is so ready!
Lessons are Tuesday from 5-6pm.
